Job description
ABOUT 1X We’re building humanoid robots that work in home - doing the chores, handling the tasks, and giving people their time back. Simple, but it’s not. To do this right, we have to solve robotics, AI, manufacturing - at the same time, at scale, in a form factor that has to be safe enough to live with your family. If you’re inspired by this, you’ll thrive here. We’ve been at this since 2014 and we’re at the point where the hard problems are behind us and the hard work is in front of us. NEO is our flagship - a home robot designed to move, learn, and operate in the real world alongside real people. We’re not demoing it - we’re shipping it. We’re excited to meet you, if this excites you. If you’ve spent your career working on problems that matter and want to see them actually reach the world - this is that moment. We’re scaling, we’re hiring with intention, and we need people who want to build something that will genuinely change how humans spend their time - safely creating abundance for all. ABOUT THE TEAM The Infrastructure & Indirect Sourcing team builds the operational foundation that enables 1X to scale humanoid robot production globally. We partner across Facilities, IT, Manufacturing, Real Estate, Finance, and HR to ensure every site, system, and service is in place to support rapid growth. As we expand our footprint and production capacity, this team plays a critical role in turning ambitious plans into operational reality. YOUR CHARTER Own sourcing strategy and supplier management for facilities, construction, and infrastructure-related categories that support site expansion and operational scaling at 1X. This role is responsible for securing the suppliers, services, and commercial agreements needed to deliver facility buildouts, infrastructure upgrades, and ongoing site operations while balancing cost, quality, speed, and risk. Success in this role directly impacts 1X's ability to scale facilities and manufacturing capacity in support of humanoid robot deployment. KEY OUTCOMES - Deliver sourcing support for facility expansions, infrastructure upgrades, and capital projects that meet business timelines and operational requirements. - Achieve measurable cost savings, cost avoidance, and commercial improvements across assigned construction, facilities, and infrastructure categories. - Build and maintain a high-performing supplier network capable of supporting current operations and future site growth. - Drive supplier performance through established KPIs focused on cost, quality, responsiveness, and service levels. - Mitigate commercial and operational risk through strong contract management, supplier diversification, and contingency planning. KEY COMPETENCIES - Deep sourcing expertise within construction, facilities, infrastructure services, or capital project environments. - Strong commercial negotiator with a track record of driving favorable pricing, contract terms, and supplier performance outcomes. - Ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, suppliers, and competing priorities. - Strong cross-functional partnership skills with Facilities, Real Estate, Engineering, Operations, Legal, and Finance teams. - Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where priorities evolve quickly. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or supplier management. - Demonstrated sourcing expertise within facilities, construction, infrastructure services, MEP trades, or CAPEX-related categories. - Proven experience leading sourcing activities end-to-end, including supplier selection, negotiations, contract execution, and supplier management. - Strong commercial, contract negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). PREFERRED SKILLS - Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, robotics, automotive, aerospace, or technology environments. - Experience sourcing construction services, general contractors, electrical contractors, HVAC/mechanical services, or infrastructure-related trades. - Familiarity with facility buildouts, site expansions, tenant improvements, and capital project execution. - Experience managing large-scale facilities services agreements or integrated facilities management providers. - Experience supporting multi-site or global operations.
