Job description

About us: Airtm is a financial-infrastructure company building the future of the online-work economy. We are on a mission to empower the world's growing number of Digital Entrepreneurs in the Global South, giving them the financial freedom to thrive. The problem is clear: in emerging markets, accessing the dollar economy is difficult. Cross-border payments are slow, expensive, and often lose value to inflation. This limits the potential of millions of talented individuals.   Airtm’s solution is a swift and comprehensive financial platform that facilitates low-value cross-border payments and local cash-outs. As pioneers in stablecoin-payment infrastructure, Airtm has built the most advanced cross-border payment system available on the market.   As a company married to the world of online work, Airtm will go beyond payments to build the necessary infrastructure the online-work economy needs to thrive. We are fostering an entirely new economy, giving individuals, communities, and countries the tools to take control of their financial destinies.   About the Role: The Senior QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of the company's software products. This role involves close collaboration with product and engineering teams to define clear acceptance criteria, develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, and build robust automated testing frameworks for a modern web application and its backend services. The engineer plays a critical role in maintaining high standards for product releases and improving the overall quality assurance process, while actively pioneering the integration of AI and LLM tools into the testing lifecycle.   What you’ll be responsible for, the QA engineer:  - Analyzes product specifications to derive comprehensive and testable acceptance criteria. Collaborates with product managers and developers to clarify requirements and identify potential edge cases. Designs, implements, and maintains a robust suite of automated tests, including end-to-end, integration, and regression tests. Performs manual testing for complex or new features prior to the establishment of full automation coverage. Monitors, analyzes, and improves test coverage, reliability, and performance over time. Contributes to the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) process by integrating automated tests into the deployment pipeline. Enhances overall product quality by creating detailed bug reports, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining clear testing documentation. Designs and deploys AI-assisted testing workflows to automate recurring tasks such as test case generation, test data synthesis, and log analysis. Evaluates and integrates LLM-based testing and coding tools into the QA team's workflow, assessing their reliability, accuracy, and fitness for automated testing and edge-case discovery use cases.   Experience and skills required: -  Proven experience as a Senior QA Engineer (5+ Years of experience) or similar role, specifically testing modern web applications and backend services. Strong proficiency with test automation frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, or similar tools. Deep understanding of backend services, APIs (REST and GraphQL), and their common failure scenarios. Ability to read and comprehend frontend and backend code to assist in debugging and test creation. Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD tools and processes. Hands-on experience with AI agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, or similar) and demonstrated ability to build, deploy, or thoroughly validate agent-assisted testing systems in a near-production context. Proactive and highly detail-oriented mindset. Advanced proficiency in the English language.   Applicants must be based in South, North or Central America (applications from other locations will not be considered). This is a fully remote role, reporting to our Tech Lead.
