ABOUT THE ROLE Anduril is building Arsenal-1, its first hyperscale manufacturing facility, just south of Columbus, Ohio in Pickaway County. Arsenal-1 is redefining the scale and speed at which autonomous systems and weapons can be produced for the United States and its allies. It is a monumental step toward rebuilding America's defense industrial base and strengthening deterrence. Roadrunner is a cutting-edge VTOL counter-UAS interceptor for autonomous air defense. It rapidly detects, tracks, and neutralizes hostile unmanned aircraft to protect critical assets and personnel. The Roadrunner team sets the standard for building the future at Arsenal-1 (Ashville, OH). New team members train under our world-class manufacturing team at Anduril HQ in Costa Mesa, CA for three months before bringing that standard back to Ohio. This role requires relocation to Costa Mesa for a 3-month training program (housing, transportation, and related costs provided), and then relocation to Arsenal-1 in Ohio. ABOUT THE JOB You will own the end-to-end manufacturing value chain for a Roadrunner product, from current rate to high-volume deployment, and be the technical owner and mentor for your area. This is about orchestrating industrialization: DFM into design, tool innovation, high-rate line creation, vendor partnerships, quality, and documentation. WHAT YOU'LL DO • Own the full manufacturing value chain for a product, from prototype through high volume, including mechanical fabrication and avionics. • Drive DFM and DFX upstream into the design, changing the design itself and not just the process. • Innovate tool design and selection, and create and optimize high-rate production lines. • Own the build-documentation system (MBOMs, work instructions, and requirements) and the quality programs for your area. • Lead root-cause on systemic issues and own continuous-improvement metrics across cost, quality, and capacity. • Build vendor partnerships and travel for sourcing and on-site issue resolution. • Mentor junior ME staff and set the technical standard for the team. • Operate with incomplete or still-evolving design inputs: ask the right questions, work from first principles, and create structure where none yet exists. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR • 8+ years in manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware. • Degree in a technical field preferred, or equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience. • Deep DFM, tooling, and NPI ownership; you have taken a product or line from development to rate production. • Demonstrated delivery in resource-constrained, high-ambiguity environments. • A world-class quality and mission mindset, and flexibility for critical pushes. • U.S. Citizen. Willing to relocate to Ohio (Arsenal-1) after the 3-month Costa Mesa training. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Aircraft, aerospace, and defense program experience, or high-rate experience in an adjacent industry. • Experience building or transforming production organizations and leading change. • Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher); J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and IPC/WHMA-A-620; software scripting. US Salary Range $126,000-$167,000 USD The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
