What the role asks for

What you'd do

  • Design and implement caching strategies across build systems and package managers (for example, Turborepo and Bazel remote/local caching, dependency caching, compiler cache layers)
  • Own Bazel build performance and reliability in CI, including remote cache strategy, cache hit-rate tuning, and build graph optimization
  • Own the PR landing experience end-to-end: signal quality, required check ergonomics, merge confidence, and time-to-green optimization
  • Own the workplace provisioning workflow
  • Improve CI runner infrastructure (sizing, placement, AMI/toolchain consistency, utilization) to reduce queue times and job duration variability
  • Build CI observability and reporting for pipeline latency, and cost/performance trends
  • Partner with teams to identify cost efficient opportunities to streamline the developer experience.
  • Improve pre-commit and lint pipelines for speed and reliability without lowering enforcement quality
  • 2+ years in Developer Experience, Build/Release Engineering, Platform Engineering, or CI/CD Infrastructure on AWS Cloud
  • Strong hands-on experience with GitHub (or equivalent CI platform), self-hosted runners, and workflow orchestration patterns
  • Proven track record reducing CI time and improving pipeline reliability at scale
  • Deep understanding of caching across modern build systems (Turborepo/Bazel preferred), package ecosystems, and containerized CI
  • Experience optimizing PR workflows: branch protections, required checks, merge strategies, and developer feedback loops
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, or similar) and infrastructure-as-code familiarity (Terraform preferred)
  • Comfort working across polyglot stacks (web, backend, C++, embedded) and balancing shared platform needs
  • Strong debugging instincts for non-deterministic CI issues (flaky tests, cache misses, environment drift)

What they're asking for

  • Experience with monorepo migrations and CI redesign during repository restructuringSkillPreferred
  • Familiarity with workload right-sizing across runner classes and cost/performance tuningSkillPreferred
  • Experience with Turborepo task graph optimization and remote cachingSkillPreferred
  • Experience with Bazel remote execution/caching architecture in multi-language reposSkillPreferred

Job description

Who we are Lab37 Robotics, is a technology company focused on the development and deployment of robots designed specifically for direct-to-customer food production. Our mission is to revolutionize the food industry by creating innovative robotic solutions that enhance efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. We are passionate about pushing the boundaries of technology to deliver cutting-edge products that meet the evolving needs of our clients. What you'll do Take ownership of the developer platform experience that powers how software ships at Lab37. This includes improving CI runner performance and reliability, streamlining the PR landing path, and designing caching strategies that reduce build and test time across a growing monorepo and mixed-language stack. You’ll work with platform and release engineering teams to make builds faster, CI outcomes more predictable, and developer workflows easier to trust. This role is focused on infrastructure and execution quality around CI/CD under Cloud, especially during the transition as services continue to migrate into the cloud monorepo structure. Responsibilities • Design and implement caching strategies across build systems and package managers (for example, Turborepo and Bazel remote/local caching, dependency caching, compiler cache layers) • Own Bazel build performance and reliability in CI, including remote cache strategy, cache hit-rate tuning, and build graph optimization • Own the PR landing experience end-to-end: signal quality, required check ergonomics, merge confidence, and time-to-green optimization • Own the workplace provisioning workflow • Improve CI runner infrastructure (sizing, placement, AMI/toolchain consistency, utilization) to reduce queue times and job duration variability • Build CI observability and reporting for pipeline latency, and cost/performance trends • Partner with teams to identify cost efficient opportunities to streamline the developer experience. • Improve pre-commit and lint pipelines for speed and reliability without lowering enforcement quality What we're looking for • 2+ years in Developer Experience, Build/Release Engineering, Platform Engineering, or CI/CD Infrastructure on AWS Cloud • Strong hands-on experience with GitHub (or equivalent CI platform), self-hosted runners, and workflow orchestration patterns • Proven track record reducing CI time and improving pipeline reliability at scale • Deep understanding of caching across modern build systems (Turborepo/Bazel preferred), package ecosystems, and containerized CI • Experience optimizing PR workflows: branch protections, required checks, merge strategies, and developer feedback loops • Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, or similar) and infrastructure-as-code familiarity (Terraform preferred) • Comfort working across polyglot stacks (web, backend, C++, embedded) and balancing shared platform needs • Strong debugging instincts for non-deterministic CI issues (flaky tests, cache misses, environment drift) Desirable Skills • Experience with monorepo migrations and CI redesign during repository restructuring • Familiarity with workload right-sizing across runner classes and cost/performance tuning • Experience with Turborepo task graph optimization and remote caching • Experience with Bazel remote execution/caching architecture in multi-language repos • Experience building CI health dashboards and SLOs for engineering productivity • Knowledge of security and compliance checks in CI (for example, secret scanning, policy gates) and performance tuning those checks • Experience with practical patterns for AI-assisted development in CI/CD and DevEx workflows (for example, agent.md definition and infrastructure, build/debug assistance, and PR summarization) Why join us • Demand for online food delivery is growing really fast!
