Job description
Bio is a decentralized science protocol that helps launch and grow AI-driven biotech research. It enables scientists to raise funds, create value from their work, and distribute that value directly to their communities. Since 2023, Bio has directed over $50m to global researchers, offering an alternative to traditional pharma funding. Backed by investors like Binance Labs, Northpond Ventures, and Animoca Brands, Bio accelerates real-world therapeutics across longevity, brain health, fertility, psychedelic science, and more. ABOUT THE ROLE We're building infrastructure for decentralized science and are looking for a QA Engineer who can own quality end-to-end - from manual testing and exploratory work to building automated test frameworks. This is a foundational role where you'll ensure our AI agents, web applications, and on-chain systems work reliably as we scale. You'll work closely with engineering, product, and science teams to catch issues before they reach users and build the testing infrastructure that keeps us shipping fast with confidence. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Design and execute manual test plans for new features and releases - Build and maintain automated test suites (unit, integration, end-to-end) - Perform exploratory testing to find edge cases and unexpected issues - Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines to catch regressions early - Test AI agent outputs for accuracy, consistency, and reliability - Collaborate with engineers to define test coverage and quality standards - Document bugs clearly and work with the team to prioritize fixes - Help establish QA best practices as the team grows WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - Proven experience in both manual testing and test automation - Strong background building automated test frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar) - Experience testing web applications and APIs - Experience testing AI/ML systems or non-deterministic outputs - Background in testing smart contracts or blockchain applications - Ability to think like a user - and like an attacker - to find issues others miss - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating tests into deployment workflows - Comfortable operating in an early-stage, fast-moving environment - Strong communication skills and attention to detail NICE TO HAVE - Prior work in biotech, research tools, or scientific software - Contributions to open-source testing tools or frameworks WHY JOIN US - Foundational role with real ownership over quality - Competitive salary + meaningful equity/token component - Remote-first culture with a small, high-trust team - Opportunity to shape QA practices from day one
