Job description
CaptivateIQ’s Professional Services team builds the highest-impact implementations for our most strategic and complex customers. We are looking for a highly skilled Professional Services Architect who brings deep technical expertise, strong consultative instincts, and the ability to turn sophisticated compensation plans into scalable, high-performance solutions. This is one of the most senior individual-contributor roles on our team. You will be the principal architect responsible for the end-to-end design and modeling of complex compensation structures-often for hundreds or thousands of end users. You’ll serve as the technical expert in the room with customer stakeholders, navigate ambiguity with confidence, and set the standard for modeling quality, solution hygiene, and delivery excellence across Professional Services. You will also be a key partner to Engineering and Product, influencing roadmap priorities and surfacing patterns from complex implementations that directly shape how CaptivateIQ evolves. If you love solving intricate modeling challenges, advising customers through high-stakes decisions, and raising the bar for complex SaaS delivery, this is the role for you. What You'll Do Architecture & Solution Design • Lead end-to-end delivery for complex, enterprise implementations (discovery through launch). • Architect scalable, high-performance compensation models with strong data hygiene and long-term maintainability. • Translate complex plan designs into structured, repeatable system configurations and patterns. Technical Leadership & Escalation Ownership • Act as the senior technical escalation point for internal teams and partners. • Diagnose issues quickly, drive root-cause resolution, and strengthen reusable modeling patterns. • Set quality standards by contributing templates, QA checklists, and model best practices. Consultative Customer & Stakeholder Engagement • Serve as the technical SME with Finance, Sales Ops, RevOps, and cross-functional customer teams. • Guide customers through trade-offs, edge cases, and best practices in compensation architecture. • Communicate complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Cross-Functional Partnership & Product Influence • Partner with Product and Engineering to surface patterns, influence roadmap priorities, and resolve platform gaps. • Collaborate with Sales, CS, and Support to ensure smooth handoffs and consistent customer outcomes. Scaling Standards Across Professional Services • Elevate PS delivery by shaping modeling frameworks, reusable components, and implementation standards. • Mentor and guide consultants (informally) to uplift technical and consultative excellence across the team. Requirements • 6+ years of total work experience, including 4+ years designing and modeling complex incentive compensation plans in an ICM/SPM platform. • Expert-level Excel modeling for large, complex datasets; strong intuition for data structures, calculations, and model hygiene. • Proven experience leading SaaS implementations in a Professional Services, Solutions Architecture, or Technical Consulting role. • Demonstrated success navigating complex, multi-stakeholder environments and advising customers through technical and business tradeoffs. • Deep understanding of implementation best practices, solution architecture, and the full project lifecycle. • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, curious, and customer-obsessed; thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and manages deadlines with discipline. • Openness to AI-driven tooling and automation that can improve modeling efficiency or data workflows. Nice to Have • Experience with CaptivateIQ or other ICM/SPM platforms (SAP Commissions, Xactly Incent, Varicent, Anaplan). • Familiarity with CRM/ERP/subscription systems (Salesforce, NetSuite, Zuora). • Exposure to SQL or Python for structuring, organizing, and validating data (no heavy coding required). • Background in financial operations, FP&A, accounting, system implementation, solutions architecture/engineering, or technology consulting. CaptivateIQ participates in E-Verify, web-based system that allows enrolled employers to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States
