Job description
Your missionAt enabl, we're bringing AI into the physical world. While everyone else talks about automating office work, we're going after the biggest problem in logistics: 25 million industrial vehicles worldwide are still driven by hand. Our hybrid system pairs the judgment of experienced drivers with modern automation, and it gets smarter with every deployment. Leading companies in logistics, automotive, and consumer goods already run on our technology. We're looking for someone to join us by year's end and help build the roadmap to autonomous intralogistics from day one. You'll work on the "nervous system" of our tech. The software that keeps data transmission stable and low-latency, so our forklifts can be safely remote-controlled in real time, anywhere in Europe What We Offer • Impact & ownership: our hierarchies are flat, so your ideas go straight into the roadmap and the product, not into a backlog someone else prioritizes. • A modern setup in Karlsruhe, with direct access to our test hall for running network tests right on the vehicle. Flexible hours, and remote work up to 50% of the time. • The enabl package: a tight-knit startup team, regular team events, a job ticket, free parking, and a kitchen stocked with snacks and drinks. • Real skin in the game: on top of a competitive salary, you get a direct stake in enabl's growth through our Employee Participation Plan (VSOP). Your tasks • Develop our software stack in modern C++ and Python, ensuring stable communication between remotely operated vehicles and remote stations. • Keep video streams and control data running reliably even under changing network conditions - from writing the code to live-testing it on the vehicle. • You analyze and optimize WiFi environments on-site at our customers. From channel and interference analysis to coordinating with the customer's IT team. • You implement lasting fixes for connectivity issues directly in the code. • Set up test infrastructure and CI pipelines that let us simulate network scenarios automatically. • Help actively shape the roadmap for our connectivity stack. Your profileYou've got solid C++ experience and hands-on WiFi know-how, plus you've gotten your hands dirty in at least one of these areas: network development, real-time systems, video pipelines (e.g. GStreamer), or robotics (e.g. ROS2). We'll teach you the rest. • Technical foundation: At least 5 years of professional experience, with modern C++ and Python on Linux as second nature. • Systems thinker & doer: You look beyond individual features to see the bigger picture, and you're comfortable finding solutions that aren't always the obvious path. You drive your own work forward without needing to be micromanaged. • Language: Confident German (C1+) and fluent English (B2) for our international team. • Bonus points if you've already touched cloud engineering, automated testing, or embedded Linux.
