Job description

Prototype Development Technician San Jose, CA Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general purpose humanoid. Our humanoid robot is designed for commercial tasks and the home. We are based in San Jose, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration. It’s time to build. We are looking for a Prototype Development Technician to take a hands-on role in building early stage mechanical and electromechanical assemblies for humanoid robot development. Responsibilities: • Build mechanical and electromechanical assemblies from CAD, schematics, and verbal guidance-often with limited to no work instructions • Perform electrical tasks including wiring, soldering, and assembling custom harnesses • Help execute tests, diagnose issues and implement solutions in partner with engineering teams • Iterate on designs and incorporate frequent revisions • Document build processes, findings, and feedback to support design • Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to support development Requirements: • 5+ years of experience in mechanical or electromechanical prototyping or assembly • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and wiring diagrams • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues across mechanical and electrical • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities • Strong communicator Bonus Qualifications: • Degree in related technical field • IPC certification • Prior experience building robotic systems • Experience 3D CAD modeling • Experience with 3D printing, machining, or other in house fabrication The US hourly range for this full-time position is between $30 - $40/hr.
