About the Position This position will work with other members of the Legislative Action Team to cover congressional committee markups and legislative action on the House and Senate floors, write spot news stories and occasional longer-form enterprise. Reporters on the team cover House and Senate committee markups gavel-to-gavel and must be available to work from the U.S. Capitol buildings and press gallery office spaces for work hours largely decided by the congressional schedule.   About the Legislative Action Team Washington’s CQ Roll Call brings up-to-date news, analysis and insights to senior decision-makers on Capitol Hill. The Legislative Action Team provides comprehensive coverage of every legislative action in Congress via bill tracking and news coverage of congressional committee markups.    About You  The preferred candidate is detail-oriented, has strong writing skills, knowledge of Capitol Hill and the legislative process, and can analyze legislative proposals on a variety of issues. The ability to facilitate relationships with congressional staff and to work in a high-paced environment under tight deadlines is vital.   The base salary range for this position is $65,000 - 70,000 per year. #LI-HR1
