Job description

About The Company GROPYUS is a technology-based construction company focused on building multi-story residential buildings. Thanks to its prefabricated building system with various design options, industrial offsite construction, and fully digitalized processes, the company manufactures aspirational, sustainable, and affordable homes using timber construction methods. GROPYUS is using scalable construction and manufacturing solutions to tap into a future market, boost Europe's strength in innovation, while also playing a substantial role in improving sustainability. About the Role: You will join the new Tech Infrastructure team at GROPYUS - the foundation that enables all our technical teams to deliver, from cloud environments to production facilities to construction sites. As a Staff Platform Engineer, you'll take ownership of our server infrastructure: Linux and Windows systems across cloud and on-premises environments. You'll handle everything from physical hardware planning and deployment to day-to-day server operations, ensuring our systems are secure, reliable, and well-maintained. This is a role for someone who enjoys the full lifecycle of server infrastructure - from racking hardware at a site to configuring systems and keeping them running smoothly. You'll work closely with the rest of the Tech Infrastructure team to build standardized, automated approaches that scale across all our locations. What you'll be doing: • Managing Linux and Windows server infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments • Planning and executing physical server deployments: hardware selection, rack planning, and installation at multiple sites • Managing Kubernetes lifecycle, including upgrades, security hardening, and multi‑cluster or hybrid setups (cloud and on‑prem) • Implementing observability for Kubernetes workloads (logging, monitoring, alerting) to ensure platform reliability and performance • Maintaining system security, patch management, and access control • Implementing backup strategies and ensuring high availability for critical systems • Building automation through configuration management tools to reduce manual operations • Monitoring system health and performance, troubleshooting issues as they arise • Documenting system configurations and maintaining operational runbooks What you bring: • You're an experienced Platform Engineer with strong skills in both Linux and Windows server environments • You have hands-on experience with physical infrastructure - you're comfortable planning and deploying server hardware at sites • You've worked with configuration management tools (Puppet, Ansible, or similar) and believe in infrastructure as code • You understand system security: hardening, patch management, and access control • You have experience with backup solutions and high availability setups • You're familiar with virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMware, or similar) • You bring a service-oriented mindset: you think about reliability, documentation, and making systems easy for others to use • Experience with PostgreSQL administration is a plus • You're based in Germany and open to occasional travel to our sites for deployments and support What We Offer • An unlimited contract with 30 vacation days. • Flexible, hybrid work: You can work from home or come into the office on the schedule that works best for you. Feel like traveling and working from another location? No problem. Tune into meetings and work from abroad for up to 40 days per year. In addition, flex hours allow you to prioritize important moments in your day. • Attractive perks and benefits: We offer a company pension scheme, language courses (English/German), and employee discounts with selected sustainable brands. Furthermore, our external partners in mental health support you in strengthening your mental health through anonymous private/group sessions. • Virtual Shares Program: Participate in the success of GROPYUS through our Virtual Share Program. • Ownership: You can truly make your mark with your work and contributions – on all our organizational levels. Find your solutions, drive and test them. • The chance to be part of something big: Our mission is to rethink an entire industry. Join us in reinventing construction and fostering sustainable, affordable living. • A diverse and enriching work environment: Become a valued member of a wonderfully diverse team of individuals from over 50 countries. At GROPYUS we value inclusion above all, ensuring that everyone feels they belong – no matter their background. In this way, our differences become strengths that help us grow as a team. Join us on our mission to design buildings as continuously evolving products to create the most exciting and affordable experience for all. We build for people and conserve the resources of our planet. We can't wait to get to know you. For more information, visit our website. Find Jobs in Germany on Arbeitnow
