Job description

At IMC, technology is at the core of everything we do. Based in London & Amsterdam, IMC's Trading Strategy Software Engineers deliver a wide variety of applications, systems and tools, including trading algorithm implementations, options pricing, volatility calculations, simulation frameworks, and data analysis & visualization tools for traders. Your Core Responsibilities: You will work together with traders, researchers, quants, and fellow engineers. You will take ownership of the end-to-end product development process for deliver high-impact projects -from requirements gathering to production deployment. Your goal is to deliver high-performance, reliable software using frequent iterations to get quick feedback and shorten our time-to-market. Key responsibilities include: • Close collaboration with traders to gain a deep understanding of Trading strategies and implement them optimally; • Building cutting edge solutions by developing, testing, deploying, tuning, and maintaining a variety of applications in Java, algorithms, new research infrastructures, and automation for Trading Teams; • Continuously improving functional and operational sides of Strategy systems to enhance user experience and overall system performance. Your Skills and Experience: • At least 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer with excellent programming abilities; • Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, complexity analysis, data structures, memory models, and concurrency models; • Strong quantitative and analytical skills and a keen interest in applying them to the Trading field; • Prior experience having worked in related industries (ideally within financial services) • Ability to work independently, analyze business requirements, communicate with stakeholders, take full ownership of the solutions you build and deliver; • Highly adaptable and able to thrive in uncertain, rapidly evolving environments; • Master’s or PhD degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science or a related field; • Experience with JVM-based languages (Java, Kotlin) or Python; • Advanced math and quantitative skills are a plus; • Experience with and interest in building information-rich user-facing applications, GUIs, UXs is a plus; • Experience with large-scale data and research pipelines compute clusters is a plus In our current Tech stack we work with Java 21+ and Python 3 as the main programming languages to implement our Strategy software.
