Job description

At Lyft, our purpose is to serve and connect. We aim to achieve this by cultivating a work environment where all team members belong and have the opportunity to thrive. Lyft is looking to hire a motivated Specialist to join our Finance Transformation Team. As a key member of the Office of Finance Transformation, you will partner closely with finance SMEs to analyze and document how things work today and then standardize, redesign, and optimize cross-functional finance processes for tomorrow. You’ll apply your finance and accounting experience-and your strong instincts for how processes should work-to drive efficiency and performance through automation, smarter tools and technology, and better workflows, while ensuring that our processes are measurable and scalable. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be expected to dig in, build things, and make a real impact in shaping our Finance org for the future. This role offers exceptional opportunities for professional growth. You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of finance processes, systems, and cross-functional stakeholders. We’re committed to cross-training on tools and technical skills to support your long-term development. This is a high-visibility, high-learning role where you’ll make a meaningful impact on how finance operates at scale. This role is right for you if you are • Someone who gets things done-you don’t just document a problem, you build the solution • Comfortable rolling up your sleeves: equally at home in a process walkthrough and building a working solution in a spreadsheet, BI tool, or automation platform • Forward-thinking and tech-curious, with a mindset of continuous improvement • Able to bridge business needs with technical solutions • Naturally collaborative, with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through • Excited by the opportunity to reimagine finance in a digital-first world Responsibilities: We’re looking for someone who brings curiosity, initiative, and a bias toward action. In this role, you’ll grow your skills by working on high-impact projects alongside experienced teammates. Your responsibilities may include: • Workflow Enhancement & Automation: Streamline and automate processes and explore automation solutions (e.g., ERP enhancements, integration platforms, RPA, or AI-powered tools) to drive scalability and accuracy. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Finance, Tech, and other teams to implement transformation projects. Support training and change management to ensure smooth adoption of new processes. • Process Analysis & Documentation: Document and analyze current-state finance workflows to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities. Collaborate with stakeholders to design and visualize future-state processes. • Performance Measurement & Insights: Contribute to defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of improvements and transformation efforts, while providing data-driven insights and ideas for continuous improvement. • Technology & Tool Effectiveness: Participate in evaluating finance systems and tools, helping ensure they support data visibility and efficient operations. Experience: We’re not looking for perfection-we’re looking for someone eager to learn, take initiative, and roll up their sleeves. If you check many of these boxes and are excited about developing the rest, we’d love to hear from you: • Fluent in English (written and verbal), with the capability to partner effectively across distributed teams. • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Business, Industrial Engineering or quantitative field • 2+ years of accounting, finance, or transformation-related experience, ideally within a tech company or multinational shared services hub • Demonstrated interest in or exposure to business process analysis-you understand how finance workflows connect and where friction lives • Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills and familiarity with other Microsoft or Google Workspace tools • Familiarity with core financial ecosystems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday) paired with experience in modern data architecture (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake) • Hands-on experience with, or proven ability to quickly learn modern automation/ETL/BI tools such as Workato, UiPath, Alteryx, Hex, Thoughtspot • Analytical and problem-solving mindset; able to identify inefficiencies and think through and build practical solutions • Ability to use SQL or Python to extract data, audit workflows, and build insights independently. • An experimental mindset-excited to test and apply emerging tech (like AI and predictive analytics) to manual finance tasks. • Comfortable stepping into undefined, messy processes and building a structured solution from scratch. • High operational standards, but a strong preference for building a working prototype over talking about abstract strategy. Please submit your resume in English.
