Job description
Know where you belong! Match Group is a leading provider of dating products across the globe. Our portfolio includes Tinder, Hinge, Match, Meetic, PlentyOfFish, OkCupid, The League, HER, and others, each designed to spark meaningful connections for singles worldwide. Creating a sense of belonging doesn’t stop at our products - it’s the foundation of every team we hire. When it comes to dating, the connection starts online, but the real magic happens once you meet in real life (IRL). We think the same is true for creating the best platforms, so we work together IRL 3 days/week. In today's digital world, finding genuine relationships is tougher than ever. At Hinge, we’re on a mission to inspire intimate connection to create a less lonely world. We’re obsessed with understanding our users’ behaviors to help them find love, and our success is defined by one simple metric– setting up great dates. With tens of millions of users across the globe, we’ve become the most trusted way to find a relationship, for all. About the Role This role is part of the Match Group Legal organization. Match Group, through its portfolio companies, including Hinge, is a leading provider of dating products available globally, designed to increase our users' likelihood of finding a meaningful connection. We are seeking a motivated and talented Product Corporate Counsel to provide day-to-day legal support to Hinge. This role will report to the Senior Corporate Counsel, Hinge, and will be located in our New York City office, where we observe a 3-day-per-week in-office hybrid attendance policy. Responsibilities • Partner with Hinge's product, design, and engineering teams as an embedded legal advisor throughout the full product lifecycle, from ideation and design through launch and commercialization, providing practical, solution-oriented counsel that keeps momentum without sacrificing rigor. • Help manage the intake, triage, and prioritization of day-to-day legal questions and requests from business stakeholders, ensuring timely routing, response, and escalation as needed. • Develop a deep understanding of Hinge's product, technology, and data practices to deliver proactive, business-minded advice on new features, AI-driven functionality, and safety initiatives. • Serve as legal liaison to product and design teams on compliance with domestic and international laws governing consumer-facing technology, including advertising, intellectual property and consumer protection. • Partner closely with Hinge Privacy counsel and cross-functional Privacy teams on data protection, privacy-by-design reviews, and regulatory compliance matters affecting product features, data practices, and new market launches. • Collaborate with Match Group’s Litigation, Trust & Safety, Corporate Affairs and other shared-services teams to gather information and implement changes in response to regulatory inquiries, litigation, or company-wide initiatives • Partner with Hinge and our broader Match Group Legal team to evolve Hinge's user-facing legal policies and disclosures, including Terms of Use, content and community guidelines, and consumer-facing messaging. • Develop, advise and manage continuous improvement of cross-functional legal workflows, including playbooks, training, templates, and AI-assisted processes, to reduce time-to-answer on recurring legal questions and scale support as Hinge grows. • Issue-spot and assess legal and regulatory risk for new and evolving products, particularly AI systems, under emerging AI regulation globally (e.g., the EU AI Act) and at the U.S. state level. • Draft and negotiate a range of commercial agreements supporting product development, including technology licensing, SaaS, data/analytics, research, and vendor agreements, partnering with Hinge Commercial Legal and relevant stakeholders where appropriate. • Guide product launches into new markets, ensuring compliance with local legal requirements and coordinating with local internal and external counsel as needed. • Conduct legal research on novel issues affecting Hinge’s products and users. • Act as a trusted, embedded legal partner who identifies jurisdiction-specific risk early, builds scalable compliance frameworks, and finds creative paths forward that keep ambitious product bets moving. What We're Looking For • 3+ years’ experience in technology, consumer products, privacy, or related regulatory practice, with both top law firm and in-house legal department experience preferred. • Law degree from a top accredited law school and admission (or in-house eligibility) to practice law in New York. • Experience providing legal support to product, design, or engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle, ideally in a consumer technology or digital media environment. • Some experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts (e.g., SaaS and other technology contracts) is a plus. • Excellent business communication and analytical skills, as well as an impeccable attention to detail and strong sense of ownership and accountability. • Comfort and fluency in using AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) and finding new use cases for applying AI to Legal workflow efficiency. • Curious and practical-minded legal partner skilled in helping business teams to identify and balance risks against business priorities. • A collaborative team player who not only excels in their individual role, but also proactively looks for opportunities to support colleagues, share helpful information, and make processes easier. What's the team like? • You will be an integral part of a highly collaborative Hinge legal team and broader Match Group legal team. While individual autonomy is valued, team members are encouraged to work together, leveraging shared knowledge and experience. • The Corporate Counsels who succeed on this team are curious, strategic thinkers who can manage multiple projects simultaneously, are autonomous and self-motivated team players, possess superior communication skills, collaborate effectively with stakeholders, and have excellent project management skills. • The global legal team includes members with backgrounds across a range of consumer-facing industries, including software, gaming, social networking, travel, hospitality, sports, entertainment, retail and music. #LI-TM2 Why Match Group?
