Job description

We are seeking an outstanding Equity Investment Analyst to join our Hong Kong team. This individual will play an important role is supporting portfolio managers in equity research and investment decision making focused on Japan listed Companies. Job Description • Conduct fundamental research on Japanese equities across sectors, including business model assessment, competitive positioning, and risk analysis. • Build and maintain detailed financial models • Analyze Japanese-language sources including earnings releases, investor presentations, filings (e.g., TSE disclosures), news, and broker research. • Monitor macro, industry, and regulatory developments affecting Japanese markets • Produce high-quality investment memos, research notes, and internal presentations for portfolio managers • Participate in earnings calls, translate and summarize key takeaways, and track guidance vs. market expectations. • Engage with company IR teams and management (in Japanese) to gather insights and clarify disclosures. • Support portfolio construction and ongoing position monitoring through performance attribution and catalyst tracking Requirements • 4+ years of experience in equity research, asset management, hedge fund, investment banking, or related buy-side/sell-side role with Japan exposure • Strong research, financial modelling, analytical and valuation skills • Strong attention to detail and intellectual curiosity • Undergraduate degree required preferably with a specialization in finance, commerce, or business administration • Language capability: excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is required.
