  • Ensure designs comply with applicable TIA, BICSI, IEEE, NEC/NFPA, ISO/IEC, and manufacturer standards.
  • Support data center capacity planning and determine future fiber, copper, rack, and pathway requirements.
  • Review contractor installation packages and ensure field implementation aligns with approved designs.
  • Support fiber testing, copper certification, commissioning, punch-list resolution, and project closeout.
  • Review OTDR, insertion-loss, and certification test results where applicable.
  • Participate remotely in design reviews, construction coordination meetings, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Conduct occasional site surveys and field inspections when required.
  • Identify design risks, constructability issues, capacity constraints, and opportunities for standardization.
  • Maintain accurate as-built documentation, cable schedules, port assignments, rack elevations, and connectivity records.
  • Work across multiple concurrent data center projects while maintaining design quality and schedule commitments.

The role We are seeking an experienced Structured Cabling Design Engineer to support the design and delivery of structured cabling and physical network infrastructure for hyperscale and enterprise data center environments. This remote position will be responsible for developing scalable, standards-compliant fiber and copper cabling designs from concept through construction and deployment. The engineer will work closely with data center design, network engineering, construction, operations, vendors, and deployment teams to ensure cabling infrastructure meets capacity, reliability, maintainability, and future-growth requirements.
