Job description
Welcome to the future of energy Octopus is a tech-powered energy company. We believe technology has the power to address our greatest challenge, climate change, while also delivering incredible service and customer experience. We are changing the way people interact with their energy company - by making it approachable, low cost, easy-to-understand, and most importantly, 100% renewable. At Octopus Tech, you’ll have real ownership, variety, and the chance to shape products that make a tangible difference in people’s lives – lowering bills, enabling greener living, and delivering experiences customers genuinely love. You’ll work side by side with teams across marketing, operations, and data, and see the impact of your work in the real world, fast. Our Global Platform Engineering team is responsible for architecting, building, and maintaining the core infrastructure, tooling, and services that enable our engineering teams to deliver at scale safely and reliably. As a Platform Engineer within this newly created team, you’ll contribute to the design and delivery of the systems and services that form the foundation of our platforms. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers to build scalable solutions, improve automation, and support areas such as cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and developer experience. You’ll bring curiosity, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn new technologies, with a strong interest in building reliable and efficient infrastructure. Thriving in an environment that welcomes continuous improvement and new ideas, your communication skills and attention to detail will be indispensable as you help turn complex challenges into practical solutions that make life easier for engineering teams.
