What the role asks for

What you'd do

  • Own the end-to-end institutional onboarding process, from initial outreach and documentation collection through account activation and first trade
  • Design and implement scalable onboarding workflows that reduce time-to-live for new institutional accounts without sacrificing compliance requirements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for institutional clients during onboarding, setting clear expectations and keeping deals moving
  • Coordinate with legal, compliance, and product teams to resolve blockers, negotiate documentation requirements, and ensure institutional accounts meet all necessary standards
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of institutional prospects moving through onboarding, and report on status, conversion rates, and bottlenecks to leadership
  • Identify patterns in where onboarding slows down and fix them - whether that means updating internal processes, improving documentation, or escalating product gaps
  • Work with the broader operations and growth teams to define what institutional success looks like post-onboarding and ensure a clean handoff
  • 7+ years of experience in financial services, with meaningful time spent in client onboarding, institutional sales support, or operations at a bank, brokerage, exchange, or fintech
  • Deep familiarity with KYC, KYB, and AML processes and the ability to navigate them without constant hand-holding from legal or compliance
  • Proven track record of owning a client-facing process end-to-end, not just executing tasks within someone else's system
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple institutional onboardings simultaneously without anything falling through the cracks
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity - this role requires building structure where little exists today
  • Clear, direct communicator who can represent Polymarket credibly to sophisticated financial counterparties
  • (Plus) Experience at a crypto exchange, prediction market, or other alternative trading platform
  • (Plus) Familiarity with CFTC-regulated entities and the documentation requirements specific to derivatives or swaps trading
  • (Plus) Experience hiring and managing a small operations or onboarding team

Job description

ABOUT POLYMARKET Polymarket is the world's largest prediction market platform. We enable individuals to express views on real-world events by trading on outcomes across politics, economics, sports, culture, and current affairs. Built as a peer-to-peer marketplace with no centralized "house," Polymarket aggregates diverse opinions into transparent, market-based probabilities that reflect collective expectations about the future. We're growing fast - both in terms of volume ($21B traded in 2025) and adoption as an alternative news source. Our ambition is to become a ubiquitous beacon of truth in global media and we need your help adding fuel to the fire. ABOUT THE ROLE Institutional capital is one of the most important vectors for Polymarket. Market-makers, hedge funds, trading desks, and sophisticated financial players are paying close attention - and we need someone to own the full process of bringing them onto the platform. This role sits within Operations, reports directly to senior leadership, and leads the institutional onboarding function end to end. The work is operational and relational in equal measure. You'll design and run the onboarding process for institutional counterparties, work closely with legal and compliance to keep things moving, and be the face of Polymarket to some of the most sophisticated traders in the world. Every week an institution is stuck in onboarding is a week they're not trading. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Own the end-to-end institutional onboarding process, from initial outreach and documentation collection through account activation and first trade - Design and implement scalable onboarding workflows that reduce time-to-live for new institutional accounts without sacrificing compliance requirements - Serve as the primary point of contact for institutional clients during onboarding, setting clear expectations and keeping deals moving - Coordinate with legal, compliance, and product teams to resolve blockers, negotiate documentation requirements, and ensure institutional accounts meet all necessary standards - Build and maintain a pipeline of institutional prospects moving through onboarding, and report on status, conversion rates, and bottlenecks to leadership - Identify patterns in where onboarding slows down and fix them - whether that means updating internal processes, improving documentation, or escalating product gaps - Work with the broader operations and growth teams to define what institutional success looks like post-onboarding and ensure a clean handoff WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 7+ years of experience in financial services, with meaningful time spent in client onboarding, institutional sales support, or operations at a bank, brokerage, exchange, or fintech - Deep familiarity with KYC, KYB, and AML processes and the ability to navigate them without constant hand-holding from legal or compliance - Proven track record of owning a client-facing process end-to-end, not just executing tasks within someone else's system - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple institutional onboardings simultaneously without anything falling through the cracks - Comfortable working in ambiguity - this role requires building structure where little exists today - Clear, direct communicator who can represent Polymarket credibly to sophisticated financial counterparties - (Plus) Experience at a crypto exchange, prediction market, or other alternative trading platform - (Plus) Familiarity with CFTC-regulated entities and the documentation requirements specific to derivatives or swaps trading - (Plus) Experience hiring and managing a small operations or onboarding team BENEFITS - Competitive salary & equity - Unlimited PTO - Full Health, Vision, & Dental coverage - 401k match - Hardware setup: new MacBook Pro, big display, & accessories
