What the role asks for

What you'd do

  • Own full-funnel analytics for your vertical, from paid acquisition through first trade to repeat engagement, and be the person who can explain what is driving each step
  • Partner with marketing on spend efficiency including CAC, ROAS, payback period, and channel mix, and make the call on where incremental dollars should go
  • Size and prioritize growth opportunities within your vertical: which leagues, events, or market types deserve investment, and what the return is likely to look like
  • Design and read experiments across creative, lifecycle, and onboarding, and hold a clear line on what did and did not work
  • Build the cohort, funnel, and retention analyses that show how your vertical's users behave differently from the rest of the platform
  • Be the analytical voice in your vertical's planning, bringing the numbers that set the targets, then hold the team accountable to them
  • Work with analytics engineers to turn your recurring analyses into durable models rather than one-off queries
  • Write end-to-end documentation that’s clear and thorough enough that anyone on the team can pick up your analysis without friction
  • 7+ years in growth, marketing, or product analytics, with a track record of owning a business area end-to-end
  • Expert SQL. You can go from raw event tables to a defensible answer without help
  • Deep fluency in full-funnel GTM metrics including CAC, ROAS, payback, conversion rate, retention, LTV, and the judgment to know when each one is misleading
  • Experience embedded with marketing and product teams as a partner in the work, not a downstream request queue
  • Comfort with ambiguity. You can scope a vague question into a real analysis and defend the assumptions you made along the way
  • Strong communication. You can take a complex analysis to a non-technical audience and land the recommendation
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where business logic changes frequently and you need to keep pace
  • (Plus) Data science background: experimentation design, causal inference, or predictive modeling in Python or R
  • (Plus) Genuine interest or expertise in one of our verticals, whether that is sports, crypto, or politics
  • (Plus) Experience in fintech, crypto, prediction markets, or other data-intensive financial products

Job description

ABOUT POLYMARKET Polymarket is the world's fastest growing prediction market. We enable individuals to express views on real-world events by trading on outcomes across politics, economics, sports, culture, and current affairs. Built as a peer-to-peer marketplace with no centralized "house," Polymarket aggregates diverse opinions into transparent, market-based probabilities that reflect collective expectations about the future. We're growing quickly, both in terms of volume ($115B traded to date) and adoption as an alternative news source. Our ambition is to become a ubiquitous beacon of truth in global media and we need your help adding fuel to the fire. ABOUT THE ROLE Polymarket is looking for a Senior Data Scientist / Analyst, Growth to own full-funnel GTM analytics across the business. You'll be accountable for understanding how users find us, what turns them into traders, and what brings them back. This is a role for someone who wants to own a number rather than staff a request queue. You'll set the analytical agenda for your vertical: deciding what's worth measuring, telling marketing where the next dollar should go, and making the case when the data says the current plan is wrong. And you'll do it in a fast-moving environment where new markets launch constantly and the growth playbook changes with them. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Own full-funnel analytics for your vertical, from paid acquisition through first trade to repeat engagement, and be the person who can explain what is driving each step - Partner with marketing on spend efficiency including CAC, ROAS, payback period, and channel mix, and make the call on where incremental dollars should go - Size and prioritize growth opportunities within your vertical: which leagues, events, or market types deserve investment, and what the return is likely to look like - Design and read experiments across creative, lifecycle, and onboarding, and hold a clear line on what did and did not work - Build the cohort, funnel, and retention analyses that show how your vertical's users behave differently from the rest of the platform - Be the analytical voice in your vertical's planning, bringing the numbers that set the targets, then hold the team accountable to them - Work with analytics engineers to turn your recurring analyses into durable models rather than one-off queries - Write end-to-end documentation that’s clear and thorough enough that anyone on the team can pick up your analysis without friction WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 7+ years in growth, marketing, or product analytics, with a track record of owning a business area end-to-end - Expert SQL. You can go from raw event tables to a defensible answer without help - Deep fluency in full-funnel GTM metrics including CAC, ROAS, payback, conversion rate, retention, LTV, and the judgment to know when each one is misleading - Experience embedded with marketing and product teams as a partner in the work, not a downstream request queue - Comfort with ambiguity. You can scope a vague question into a real analysis and defend the assumptions you made along the way - Strong communication. You can take a complex analysis to a non-technical audience and land the recommendation - Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where business logic changes frequently and you need to keep pace - (Plus) Data science background: experimentation design, causal inference, or predictive modeling in Python or R - (Plus) Genuine interest or expertise in one of our verticals, whether that is sports, crypto, or politics - (Plus) Experience in fintech, crypto, prediction markets, or other data-intensive financial products BENEFITS - Competitive salary & equity - Unlimited PTO - Full Health, Vision, & Dental coverage - 401k match - Hardware setup: new MacBook Pro, big display, & accessories PAY TRANSPARENCY Base salary range: $200,000 to $300,000 annually, plus equity and benefits. This range reflects a good-faith estimate for this position. Experience levels vary widely within a title here, so please reach out even if your expectations fall outside it. We're always happy to chat.
