  • Draft, revise, and own risk policies, procedures, and the risk register as the U.S Exchange business grows and regulatory requirements evolve.
  • Partner directly with trading, product, legal, and operations teams to identify risk issues early, assess exposure, and drive resolution without waiting on formal escalation paths.
  • Run ongoing assessments against Polymarket's Enterprise Risk Management framework and flag gaps before they become incidents.

  • (Plus) Experience at a broker-dealer, futures commission merchant, or regulated exchange.
  • (Plus) Familiarity with CFTC or SEC regulatory frameworks relevant to exchange operations.

Job description

ABOUT POLYMARKET Polymarket is the world's largest prediction market platform. We enable individuals to express views on real-world events by trading on outcomes across politics, economics, sports, culture, and current affairs. Built as a peer-to-peer marketplace with no centralized "house," Polymarket aggregates diverse opinions into transparent, market-based probabilities that reflect collective expectations about the future. We're growing fast, both in terms of volume ($21B traded in 2025) and adoption as an alternative news source. Our ambition is to become a ubiquitous beacon of truth in global media and we need your help adding fuel to the fire. ABOUT THE ROLE Polymarket is building a U.S. regulated exchange, and this hire sits at the center of that effort. The Senior Risk Analyst will help to shape the risk management function for the U.S. Exchange business, working directly with trading, product, legal, and operations to stand up governance infrastructure that actually works in a fast-moving environment. This isn't a role where you maintain an inherited playbook. You're building one. The U.S. Exchange team is small, senior, and moves quickly. Risk decisions get made in real time alongside people who come from front office trading backgrounds, and you'll need to match that fluency. The expectation is that you show up as a trusted counterpart to business leaders, not a checkpoint. You'll assess risk, escalate when something is wrong, and help the business to thoughtfully move forward rather than slow it down. This role matters because Polymarket is entering regulated territory and the quality of the risk program will directly shape what we can build, how fast we can operate, and how seriously regulators and partners take us. If you want to see the direct impact of your work, this is the place to do it. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Build and maintain the risk governance framework for the U.S. Exchange business, including risk and control self assessments, tolerance thresholds, incident capture, and reporting cadences. - Draft, revise, and own risk policies, procedures, and the risk register as the U.S Exchange business grows and regulatory requirements evolve. - Partner directly with trading, product, legal, and operations teams to identify risk issues early, assess exposure, and drive resolution without waiting on formal escalation paths. - Run ongoing assessments against Polymarket's Enterprise Risk Management framework and flag gaps before they become incidents. - Hold business stakeholders accountable to defined risk processes and maintain clear ownership of risk decisions across the organization. - Translate complex risk and control concepts into plain terms for business leaders who need to make fast, informed decisions. - Monitor the regulatory and market environment relevant to U.S. exchange operations and surface anything that requires a policy or process response. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 7+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, or audit within financial services, specifically in capital markets. - Direct experience in front office or middle office capital markets trading, covering equities and/or equity derivatives. Trading compliance and risk management roles count. - Demonstrated experience implementing a risk management framework inside a regulated organization, not just working within one someone else built. - Track record of working alongside trading or front office business leaders to assess risk issues and propose practical solutions, not just document them. - Ability to drive decisions across product, legal, and operations teams without relying on formal authority. People listen to you because you know your stuff and communicate clearly. - Strong written communication skills. You can produce governance documents, policies, and risk committee materials that are clear, accurate, and credible. - (Plus) Experience at a broker-dealer, futures commission merchant, or regulated exchange. - (Plus) Familiarity with CFTC or SEC regulatory frameworks relevant to exchange operations. - (Plus) Prior experience at a startup or high-growth fintech where you had to build processes from scratch. BENEFITS - Competitive salary & equity - Unlimited PTO - Full Health, Vision, & Dental coverage - 401k match - Hardware setup: new MacBook Pro, big display, & accessories PAY TRANSPARENCY Base salary range: $125,000 to $200,000 annually, plus equity and benefits. This range reflects a good-faith estimate for this position. Experience levels vary widely within a title here, so please reach out even if your expectations fall outside it. We're always happy to chat.
