CNC MACHINIST (STARLINK) – 2ND SHIFT - LEVEL 4/5 At SpaceX we’re leveraging our experience in building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world’s most advanced broadband internet system. Starlink is the world’s largest satellite constellation and is providing fast, reliable internet to 10M+ users worldwide. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system – thousands of satellites, consumer antennae that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing, and the software that brings it all together. We’ve only begun to scratch the surface of Starlink’s potential global impact and are looking for best-in-class CNC Machinists to help maximize Starlink’s utility for communities and businesses around the globe. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Responsible for setting up, operating multi-axis CNC machines (mills and lathes) up to and including 5 Axis mills and 6 axis lathes • Responsible for all types of drilling, tapping and milling and turning • Completing machining operations from blueprints, drawings and/or verbal instructions • Responsible for machining complex, tight tolerances parts and various materials • Material prep, deburring parts, hauling chips, oiling machines, sweeping up and initiating or assisting in organizational tasks BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: • High school diploma or equivalency certificate • 7+ years of experience in the setup and operation of CNC machines • G-code experience PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: • 10+ years of experience in the setup and operation of CNC machines • Experience with GD&T or interpreting blueprints/manufacturing drawings • Short run, prototype, non-production machining experience • Horizontal mill experience • Basic programming experience • Experience running lathes + live tooling ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: • Must be available for 10 hour shifts. Estimated shift times: 2nd shift (4:00PM to 2:30AM) • Able to lift a minimum of 40lbs. unassisted • Able to stand for extended periods- 8 hours min • Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces • Repetitive movement, bending or twisting, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Pay Range: Level 4: $38.00 - $45.00 Level 5: $43.00 - $52.00 Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You will also receive access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various other discounts and perks. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Employees in Washington State accrue paid sick time in compliance with state and federal law. Company shuttles are offered to employees for roundtrip travel from select Seattle locations to the SpaceX Redmond office Monday to Friday.
