Job description

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars. PILOT SpaceX is looking for an in-house pilot for various aircraft. You will have the opportunity to fly both domestically and internationally from local airports. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Ensure aircraft ground servicing items such as fuel, oil, oxygen, etc. are monitored and accomplished according to standard operating procedures • Complete flight planning, performance, and weight and balance tasks for each assignment • Complete passenger briefings according to company policy and regulation • Utilize Threats, Plans, and Considerations briefing methodology for briefings and to mitigate operational risks • Maintain a current first class medical certificate BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: • High school diploma or equivalency certificate • 3,000+ hours total flight time • First class medical certificate PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: • Boeing 737 type rating • G650 type rating • 500+ hours time in type ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: • Within 2-4 hour travel distance to LAX • Ability to work on an on-call basis • Current passport • Ability to pass Air Force background checks for Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg ITAR REQUIREMENTS: • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
