Through our technology and data, we make rail travel easier and help people choose more sustainable ways to get around. Rail already offers a far greener alternative to flying or driving, and we believe we have a genuine role to play in supporting the wider industry, businesses and governments to hit their own emissions targets. We were one of the first tech companies to have science-based net zero targets officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), committing to net zero by 2040 and a 55% reduction in scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030. This role sits between our Legal and People team, working closely with our Company Secretary and Head of Employee Experience. You'll take the lead on embedding our emissions data platform, driving supplier engagement on our net-zero journey, and acting as an ambassador for corporate sustainability both inside and outside the business. A key and expanding part of this role is owning the employee experience of sustainability and social responsibility at Trainline - bringing to life what it means to 'Do Good' for our people. This includes leading our Trainliners for Good social impact framework, managing our charity partnerships across all offices, and creating meaningful opportunities for employees to give back to their communities. You'll collaborate closely with teams across Trainline who own supplier relationships and data, as well as with senior stakeholders, to keep momentum going on one of our most important long-term commitments. In this role as the Senior Corporate Sustainability Manager, you will...🚄 - Own the ongoing delivery of our SBTi-validated emissions reduction strategy, with a strong focus on supplier engagement and reducing scope 3 emissions - Lead the continued rollout and adoption of Watershed, our GHG data platform, ensuring it is fully embedded ahead of the financial year reporting cycle - Be the ambassador for corporate sustainability, confidently presenting our progress and priorities to audiences across the business and building genuine engagement with the topic - Build strong working relationships with the teams who own supplier relationships - Support the development of frameworks for sustainability-linked disclosure requirements and help put them into action - Identify and lead workstreams that improve our ESG ratings over time - Help shape how we measure and report on emerging areas, such as the emissions impact of AI, where established methodologies don't yet exist Ambassador for Sustainability and Social Impact A significant part of this role is being the driving force behind making our sustainability and social impact programmes real for our people day to day. - Be the ambassador for corporate sustainability, confidently presenting our progress and priorities to audiences across the business and building genuine engagement with the topic - Work with our Head of Employee experience collaborating on internal communications and storytelling around our social impact work - keeping Trainliners informed, inspired and involved (e.g. company-wide updates, All-Hands moments, intranet content) - Own and evolve the Trainliners for Good framework, ensuring it remains relevant, well-communicated and embedded across all of our offices (London, Edinburgh, Paris, Barcelona and Milan) - Manage and grow the Trainline Sustainability Network, working with employee advocates across the business to build grassroots engagement with sustainability and social responsibility themes - Act as the internal point of contact and champion for the Charity Day benefit, ensuring employees know how to use it and are inspired to do so We'd love to hear from you if you have...🔍 - Experience driving a corporate sustainability agenda forward, ideally within a progressive or tech-led organisation - A solid background implementing science-based target reduction plans or similar programmes, ideally with hands-on experience of a GHG data platform such as Watershed - Experience owning or leading employee-facing social responsibility, community engagement, or corporate giving programmes - including charity partnerships and volunteering initiatives - Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholder relationships and partnerships (internal and external), keeping programmes well-coordinated across geographies - Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders across a business, from data owners to senior leadership - Confidence presenting to and engaging audiences, both internally and externally, on sustainability progress and priorities - Experience leading change or transformation initiatives while balancing long-term goals with short-term delivery More information: Enjoy fantastic perks like private healthcare & dental insurance, a generous work from abroad policy, 2-for-1 share purchase plans, an EV Scheme to further reduce carbon emissions, extra festive time off, and excellent family-friendly benefits.  We prioritise career growth with clear career paths, transparent pay bands, personal learning budgets, and regular learning days.
