This is a hybrid role based in Bangalore, reporting to the Sr. Manager, Engineering in the Identity & Access Management department. You will help manage digital risk by applying security through identity integration and controls. In this role, you will build workflows and application integrations as coordinated with the larger IAM team, Product Management, and Business teams. What you’ll do (Role Expectations) • Lead the development of identity management products for Zscaler • Designing and implementing scalable, high-performance backend services and APIs using Java • Ensuring code quality by writing and maintaining unit, integration, and performance tests; monitor, debug, and optimize system performance • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions and contribute to Agile/Scrum processes like sprint planning and retrospectives • Participating in on-call rotation to support a highly available engineering platform and ensure compliance with federal guidelines Who You Are (Success Profile) • You thrive in ambiguity. What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications) • Deep proficiency in enterprise Java, object-oriented programming (OOP/OOA), systems architecture, RESTful APIs, and frameworks such as Hibernate and Spring. • Good understanding of CI/CD tools and processes • Hands-on experience with SQL and Postgres • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and one or more major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) • Exceptional problem-solving skills for creating robust solutions and resolving complex issues with root cause analysis What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications) • Strong understanding of DevOps automation workflows and CI/CD pipelines and experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container infrastructure • Experience implementing AI-driven anomaly detection, identity analytics, or automated policy generation within enterprise access management platforms • Knowledge of Identity and Access Management protocols, such as OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, Federation, or SSO #LI-Hybrid #LI-GL2 At Zscaler, we are committed to building a team that reflects the communities we serve and the customers we work with.
